Artist Statement
My journey of discovery is organic and many-layered. It is an exploration of the inner universe, the origin of all ideas and quests for knowledge. Concepts take root, grow and flourish, blossoming into existence.
Despite the ongoing destruction of natural habitats, the discovery and diversity of botanical life forms continues on Earth. The nature and properties of all species offer us potentials in understanding the importance of the limitless networks of life on this planet and beyond.
My new work is a collection of unearthly botanical specimens yet to be discovered within our galaxy - imagined species from other worlds. Whereas on Earth the unknown qualities of botanical species are used to provide medicinal or agricultural purpose, environmental significance and cultural meaning, these specimens' function and origins are still a mystery.
